We strictly advise against using the standard PF1315 impact crusher for materials with a high silica content (above 5%), such as granite, quartzite, or river gravel. High silica levels cause extreme abrasive wear on the blow bars and internal liner plates, causing wear costs to spike rapidly. For abrasive hard rock applications, a cone crusher is a much more economical choice.
