Announcement

We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of OmniMech’s new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Linyi, Shandong Province. This major investment doubles our production capacity and significantly enhances our ability to serve the growing global demand for crushing equipment, wear parts, and electrical control systems.

The new facility represents a $12 million investment and is the culmination of two years of planning and construction. It positions OmniMech to deliver larger orders with shorter lead times while maintaining the rigorous quality standards our customers expect.

Why We’re Expanding

The decision to expand was driven by several factors:

Surging Global Demand

Over the past three years, OmniMech has experienced 35% year-over-year growth in orders, driven by:

  • Infrastructure development across Southeast Asia, Africa, and South America—governments are investing heavily in roads, bridges, and housing that require aggregate
  • Mining sector recovery—copper, gold, and iron ore prices have stimulated new mine development and expansion, increasing demand for primary and secondary crushing equipment
  • Wear parts replacement cycle—as our installed base grows, so does the recurring demand for jaw dies, cone liners, blow bars, and screen panels

Our previous facility was running at 95% capacity with 8–12 week lead times on equipment orders—too long for customers who need to capitalize on market opportunities quickly.

Geographic Diversification

Orders from Africa and South America have grown particularly fast, now representing 45% of our total revenue (up from 25% three years ago). These markets require larger, heavier equipment (PE 900×1200 and above) that our previous facility struggled to produce efficiently due to crane and bay size limitations.

New Facility Highlights

Advanced Manufacturing Equipment

The new factory is equipped with the latest production technology:

  • CNC machining centers (5-axis): For precision machining of crusher frames, eccentric shafts, and adjustment rings with tolerances of ±0.02mm
  • Automated welding robots (6 units): Robot-assisted MIG/MAG welding for crusher body fabrication—ensures consistent weld quality and 3x faster production than manual welding
  • Large-capacity heat treatment furnaces: For proper stress relief and quenching/tempering of high-manganese and high-chromium wear parts—critical for achieving the mechanical properties that determine wear life
  • Spectral analysis laboratory: On-site chemical composition analysis of every heat of steel and cast iron before processing—ensures material meets specification before a single cut is made
  • 3D coordinate measuring machine (CMM): For dimensional verification of machined components against engineering drawings
  • 50-ton overhead crane (2 units): Enables handling of the largest crusher components (PE 1200×1500 crusher body weighs 38 tons)

Quality Control Enhancements

Quality is non-negotiable in crushing equipment—a frame failure or shaft breakage in the field can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in downtime and repair. The new facility includes:

  • 100% ultrasonic testing of all castings before machining—detects internal defects (shrinkage, porosity, inclusions) that visual inspection cannot
  • Magnetic particle inspection of all welded joints—detects surface and near-surface cracks
  • Hardness testing at multiple points on every wear part—ensures through-hardening to specification
  • Dimensional inspection report with every shipment—customers receive full CMM data for critical dimensions
  • ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system with full traceability from raw material to finished product

Environmental Features

The new facility was designed with sustainability as a core principle:

  • Solar panels: 2,400 m² rooftop installation generating 480 kW peak—covers approximately 30% of the facility’s daytime electricity needs
  • Rainwater harvesting: 500 m³ collection system used for cooling water, dust suppression testing, and landscape irrigation
  • Waste heat recovery: Heat from heat treatment furnaces is captured and used for space heating in winter
  • Waste management: Metal scrap recycling rate >98%, zero liquid discharge for process water
  • LED lighting throughout the facility with motion sensors—70% lower energy consumption than conventional factory lighting
  • Green building certification: Designed to meet China’s GB/T 50378 green building standard (equivalent to LEED Silver)

What This Means for Our Customers

Better Quality Consistency

Automated welding and CNC machining eliminate the variability inherent in manual processes. Customers will see:

  • More consistent dimensional accuracy on all machined surfaces
  • Better weld quality with robot-assisted welding (no undercut, porosity, or inconsistent bead size)
  • More reliable heat treatment results with computer-controlled furnace cycles

Larger Equipment Capability

The new 50-ton cranes and larger assembly bays enable us to manufacture:

  • PE 1200×1500 and PE 1500×2100 jaw crushers (previously outsourced)
  • PYD 2200 and larger cone crushers
  • Complete crushing plant modules pre-assembled and test-run before shipment

Enhanced R&D Capability

The new facility includes a dedicated R&D center with:

  • Test crushing laboratory: Small-scale crusher for testing new liner profiles and alloy compositions with customer-supplied rock samples
  • Wear analysis laboratory: Microscopy, hardness mapping, and chemical analysis of worn parts returned from the field—feeds continuous improvement of wear part designs
  • Simulation workstations: DEM (Discrete Element Method) and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software for virtual testing of new crusher designs before prototyping

Community Impact

The expansion creates significant positive impact in the local community:

  • 200+ new jobs created across manufacturing, quality control, engineering, and logistics roles
  • Technical training program: Partnership with Linyi University’s mechanical engineering department—students receive hands-on manufacturing experience and 80% of graduates are hired full-time
  • Supplier development: We’re working with 15 local suppliers to upgrade their capabilities to meet our quality standards, creating additional economic multiplier effects
  • Apprenticeship program: 3-year structured apprenticeship for CNC machinists, welders, and quality inspectors—addressing the skilled trades shortage in Chinese manufacturing

Looking Forward

This expansion is not the end of our growth plans. Phase 2 (planned for 2026) includes:

  • Dedicated wear parts foundry: On-site casting facility for high-manganese and high-chromium wear parts—currently we partner with external foundries, which adds 2–3 weeks to wear parts lead times
  • Automated painting and packaging line: For faster, more consistent surface treatment and shipment preparation
  • Expanded R&D: Additional test equipment including a full-scale crusher test rig capable of running 200 TPH for extended wear tests

Conclusion

The new OmniMech manufacturing facility represents our commitment to meeting customer needs with shorter lead times, better quality, and greater capacity. As global demand for crushing equipment continues to grow—driven by infrastructure development and mining investment across emerging markets—we’re positioned to serve our customers better than ever.
